01 Nov Vendor Spotlight : H & H Liquid Catering
One of the best parts about planning events in the DFW area is getting to work with other event professionals who are down right amazing at what they do. In our new feature #VendorSpotlight series we’re going to interview one talented professional each month & introduce you to some of the best of the best in the events industry throughout Dallas and Fort Worth.
So without further ado… I’m pleased to introduce our first Spotlight in the series – Heather Nichols of H & H Liquid Catering.
H & H Liquid Catering background:
I started my company in December of 2012 bartending private and corporate Christmas parties. I was a new mom and was in desperate need of some extra income to pay off hospital bills. At the time, I had 13 years of bartending, catering and restaurant management experience. I asked a friend in the wedding business for advice and he suggested I put myself on GigSalad as an independent bartender. Within a few months a small venue in McKinney asked me to be on their vendor list. I didn’t own tables, glassware, linens or any equipment; but I never said no to a bride or client. Every event I gained confidence in my company and added a few more things to my inventory. By December of 2013, I was on the vendor list at 6 venues and had 12 bartenders working with me to help with events. It has only grown from there!
How do elements of the way that you and your team cover set you apart in the industry?
H & H Liquid Catering is a full service beverage catering company. We are a one-stop shop for all bar and beverage needs. We offer hosted packages, consumption, and cash bars. Other services we provide are bartenders, servers, bar rentals, glassware, nonalcoholic drink service, specialty drink creation and beverage stations. Our base service comes with a bartender and setup; including tables, linens, straws, napkins, tins to chill products and bar décor.
Signature Drinks-What makes a great signature drink?
When the drink has a story and personality behind it! I love when couples tell me about them or their story about how they met and got engaged. Then we create a drink around it.
What advice do you have for couples trying to choose a bartender and a package for their event?
Choose a package that fits your needs and budget. It’s your day! But, I do suggest hiring a second bartender or server for the entire service; you don’t need your family cleaning your tables of trash.
